Is Toxic Positivity getting in the way of your pleasure and your money?

For us to feel pleasure, yes, we get to practice rewiring our brain to notice what is going well…

but we also need to practice feeling the FULLNESS of our humanity.

Maybe you know this, but hear me out.

I've got some helpful tips I've seen work really well for clients and students to feel their feels so you can actually access pleasure, the freedom to express yourself and make sustainable money in your business!

The thing is, when we suppress our grief, our fear, our anger and disgust, we are also turning down the volume on our joy, our delight, our wonder and our ecstasy.

When we numb one, we numb the other.

So feel our feelings? Got it.

But easier said than done, right?

Maybe, like me, you're good at intellectualizing your feelings rather than just feeling them. You know WHY you feel crappy, but don't actually let yourself feel the intimate sensations and details of said crappiness.

Or maybe you are good at feeling your feels, but when you have said feelings, they COMPLETELY uproot your life. You cancel that plan for that new dance class you have been excited about for months. You burn down your relationships.

Maybe if you run a business, you put off launching your course, promoting 1:1 client spots, or completely change directions in your strategy anytime a new feeling comes up.

Or maybe you numb out and put a positive spin on it. "It's okay, I'm fine! Other people have it worse!"

The good news, it's not you or me. Not feeling our feelings or getting completely rocked by them isn't a personal failing.

It's our culture.

These symptoms stem from toxic positivity and our general culture of numbness. Which is all very connected to PLEASURE OPPRESSION, baby.

Maybe you've gotten the stories from toxic positivity that if you feel crappy:

  • Bad things will happen to you.

  • Your business won't thrive.

  • People will leave you.

  • You will never stop feeling crappy.

But the truth couldn't be more different.

When we shame or make our feelings wrong, we suppress them. When we suppress them, they unfortunately fester. When they fester, they can amplify and sneakily impact every part of our lives.

So I'm here to flip off toxic positivity and set a new standard that centers our pleasure AND our humanity.

  • You DON'T have to feel good all of the time!

  • You don't have to wait to be "high vibe" to launch your new offering.

  • You aren't deterring money when you feel bad.

  • You can show up messy, imperfect, and feeling icky.

Well, today, and the past few days really, I've been feeling crappy. I assure you, I have been resting A LOT

AND

I'm opening enrollment for The Glimmer. My first ever Mastermind, an intimate pleasure based business group coaching. Only 12 spots are available.

And one of my core principles that I will help students integrate there is to help us feel the fullness of our humanity.

Because I choose to not wait to be perfect or to feel the best to go after my heart's desires. I don't let every emotion dictate my heart's work.

And you can decide to do the same.

In The Glimmer, we practice one of my many core pleasure based principle which you can read here:

Feeling the fullness of our humanity. You don’t need consistent energy to be consistent. Because you don’t need to be in a “certain vibe” to show up. In the Glimmer, we say “fuck you” to toxic positivity. We stop moralizing our feelings or needing to take action from every single feeling. When we don’t make big meaning out of every single emotion, it’s way easier to let our income be consistent even when our feelings aren’t.

The Glimmer Mastermind has a focus on more money and simplified marketing to help us reach our goals, feel amazing with our work, and get what we want! Details coming soon, but you can have a look and sneak a spot here.

I am sharing this with you because I didn't want to share anything today.

I thought I had to feel better before I could write to you.

I thought I had to feel more excited and in flow to announce something so big and special to me.

But that's not how we make our businesses pleasurable or sustainable.

Showing up in all our feels and simply letting that be ok - that's how we do that.

with big big love,
